Fort Worth Country Day (FWCD) is celebrating the 10th year of the Captain David R. “Chip” Herr, Jr. ’80 Memorial Lecture, featuring Fort Worth-native and FWCD graduate Colonel Parker B. Schenecker as its keynote speaker. Schenecker is a retired U.S. Army Colonel who served as a senior leader and strategist in the U.S. Intelligence Community, responsible for support to U.S. and Allied defense and counter-terrorism efforts throughout the Middle East and the Horn of Africa. His presentation is titled “Profiles in Resiliency.”

Open-to-the-public; Free to attend

While Colonel Schenecker was serving on a time-sensitive deployment to Afghanistan in 2011, his two children – Calyx and Beau – were murdered by their mother. Immediately upon returning and laying his children to rest, the Colonel made a promise – to remember how his children lived, not how they died – and founded the Calyx & Beau Schenecker Memorial Fund, which provides scholarships and youth character development training. With 30 years of government service, this great leader, role model and father will share his inspiring and unique story.
