Five startups and its entrepreneurs will take the CodeLaunch stage to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges and a live audience for a chance to win over $100,000 in seed services.
CodeLaunch is a seed accelerator competition, tech tradeshow and a networking event combined as a one-day conference. The event takes place at Comerica Center in Frisco on July 31.
Entrepreneurs from 28 countries had submitted their startup ideas. Code Authority, a Frisco-based software development service provider and creator of CodeLaunch, narrowed down the number of entries to five, after a series of selection processes.
The five finalists, with individual software technology startup ideas, were revealed earlier this month.
The selected entrepreneurs and startups are:
- Prince Nallamothula, Happy Family (Frisco, Texas)
- Michael Bates, MEUSwipe (Frisco, Texas)
- Riley Keen of, CharaChorder (Dunwoody, Georgia)
- Jamie Peden, 3GStrong (Frisco, Texas)
- Ricardo Carmona, Matereo (Coimbra, Portugal)
In the three days prior to CodeLaunch, a team of professional programmers and software experts will collaborate and work with all the finalists to enhance their startup ideas.
The overall winner will receive additional seed services, worth up to $100,000.
The startups did not have to pay nor surrender equity to participate in the competition.
“CodeLaunch 7 is the perfect event for our stage of development, allowing strategic connections for our development needs in the US,” Matereo's co-founder Carmona said.
Apart from the pitch competition, a startup expo will also enable attendees to connect with potential investors and other business owners. CodeLaunch sponsors, which includes UNT at Frisco and Plano-based Improving, will be demonstrating emerging technologies.
