A Canadian multinational restaurant chain announced it will open new restaurants in and around Fort Worth, expanding its Texas footprint.
Boston's Pizza Restaurant and Sports Bar signed a multi-year development agreement with local entrepreneurs, Harry Singh and Jesse Thind, to develop four new Boston's restaurants.
Although the name might suggest otherwise, the Alberta, Canada-based restaurant and sports bar concept does not have a location in Boston. The brand's U.S franchise operations are headquartered in Addison.
Franchisees Singh and Thind are taking over the ownership of a current Boston's location in Irving by the end of this month. The duo plans to open new locations in Fort Worth, Southlake, Flower Mound and Addison, according to a press release.
The company has not disclosed specific sites yet.
Each new location will add about 70 employees to the community, Boston's said in a press release.
"Experienced restaurant operators and franchisees are attracted to Boston's because the company is on track to double our size in the number of restaurant locations within the next three years," Jeff Melnick, president of Boston's Pizza International said in a statement.
Boston's has more than 400 locations across North America. There are 23 locations in the U.S., which includes one each in Irving and Arlington – the only two in Texas, currently.
The company plans to open more than 40 new locations in areas around Dallas-Fort Worth, as well as San Antonio and Houston.
The franchise recently completed a menu and restaurant redesign and upgraded technology systems and added additional outdoor seating areas and fire pits.
"We are constantly evaluating our menu and making sure our made-from-scratch dough and gourmet pizza aren't the only items bringing in recurring guests," Melnick said. "We make sure every new menu rollout reflects the most appetizing dishes relevant to the guest taste buds of today and tomorrow."
