Family-owned Richards Supply Co. of Waco expanded its North Texas market presence with the Dec. 1 acquisition of Manske Material Handling, a Fort Worth-based company since 1993, for an undisclosed amount.

The purchase is Richards Supply’s second Fort Worth location. The company, founded in 1937 by L.K. “Dick” Richards, operates another branch in Temple. Richards Supply services clients from a variety of industries including manufacturing, municipalities, infrastructure, government, health care, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and construction. The company has a GSA contract and is a member of Affiliated Distributors.

The acquisition includes a new showroom and warehouse facility as well as Manske’s primary product lines, including wheels, casters, hand trucks, pallet jacks and carts, and the company’s in-house fabrication capabilities for repairs and special and large orders. Richards Supply is home to over 50 employees across its three current locations. With the addition of Manske’s business, Richards will take on two additional full-time and one part-time personnel.

“We are very excited about the Manske team joining the Richards family. Everyone at MMH shares our ‘Customer First’ mentality and passion for helping customers solve problems, increase productivity and improve efficiencies,” said Richards Supply President Eric Wessinger.
