The fruit basket turnover among grocery stores in North Texas continues with the announcement that Albertsons Companies has purchased one former Fresh Market store in Fort Worth and two Fresh Market locations in Dallas with plans to rebrand all three under the Tom Thumb banner.

The Fort Worth store is located in Trademark Property’s WestBend mixed-use development in the University District, at 1751 River Run Road. The Dallas locations are in the Turtle Creek and Lakewood neighborhoods.

All three stores will undergo a complete renovation and will reopen by the end of the year. New Starbucks coffee bars will be added to the Fort Worth and Oak Lawn (Turtle Creek) locations.

In addition to these three converted stores, the Albertsons store in Wylie has been rebranded as Tom Thumb.

Tom Thumb is also adding a store in the Left Bank development at 2400 West Seventh St. That store will be the first Fort Worth urban concept store for the chain.

In North Texas, Albertsons operates 48 stores under the Albertsons banner and 57 stores under the Tom Thumb brand.
