Fort Worth home sales increased 7.7 percent to 1,198 homes in April 2019. The median price for Fort Worth homes increased 2.7 percent year-over-year to $225,900 in April 2019.

"Inventory is still low, but we are continuing to see more homes added to the market," said Moiri Brown, 2019 president of the Greater Fort Worth Association of REALTORS. "As we head into the summer selling months we expect active listings and closed sales to continue to rise.”

Fort Worth’s monthly housing inventory was 2.3 months in April 2019, 0.4 months more than the year prior. The Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University cites that 6.5 months of inventory represents a market in which supply and demand for homes is balanced.

Homes spent an average of 42 days on the market in April 2019, five days more than April 2018. Additionally, active listings increased 17 percent to 2,465 listings during the same time frame.
