Goodwill Industries of Fort Worth's newest retail store will open on Monday, May 20 in Arlington.

The store, located at 4700 S. Collins Street, in Arlington is Goodwill's 24th store in the area.

Before they start shopping, area customers can attend a grand opening ceremony on Monday morning at the store. The ceremony includes a ribbon cutting and an appearance by Dallas Cowboys mascot Rowdy. Shoppers can also enjoy music from a live DJ, drawings and giveaways every hour on the hour.

The store sits on 2.5 acres of land. Reliable Construction initially began construction on the12,000 sq.feet store in August 2017.

The store is expected to employ 20 employees.

“Every retail store that Goodwill opens means more revenue to support our job training and placement programs for individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment,” David Cox, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Fort Worth, said in a statement. “Revenue generated through the sale of donated goods fund programs serving veterans, at-risk youth, the homeless, the disabled and the general public through our job resource centers.”

About 93% of all Goodwill Industries of Fort Worth's earnings foes into such programs and services. It's generated revenue of about $38 million comes from the sale of donated goods.
