Fort Worth home sales increased 2.1 percent to 1,262 homes in May 2019. The median price for Fort Worth homes increased 4 percent year-over-year to $235,000 in May 2019.

"The statistics for May are very close to what we have been seeing all year," said Moiri Brown, 2019 President of the Greater Fort Worth Association of REALTORS. "Fort Worth is now the 13th largest city in the U.S., which I believe is contributing to the strength of our housing market.”

Fort Worth’s monthly housing inventory was 2.5 months in May 2019, 0.4 months more than the year prior. The Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University cites that 6.5 months of inventory represents a market in which supply and demand for homes is balanced.

Homes spent an average of 36 days on the market in May 2019, five days more than May 2018. Additionally, active listings increased 17.3 percent to 2,660 listings during the same time frame.
